THE OSL CONNECTION
stores converted to ACE
hardware network in 12 months
store associates trained
on the ACE purchase portal
THE CHALLENGE
The challenge was two-fold. Lowe’s needed a partner to help them convert previously independent hardware stores over to the ACE hardware network with new branding, floor plans and systems. Lowe’s also wanted to ensure former independent store associates could become passionate, knowledgeable advocates for their brand.
MEASURABLE RESULTS
- Created a specialized, national training team to onboard associates
- Merchandizing strategies boosted sales and product turnover
- Helped transition independent stores to a cohesive Lowe’s-branded experience

ACTIONS
THAT DROVE TRANSACTIONS
Smoothly transitioning 50 independent locations over to the ACE hardware network involved more than putting up new branding and signage. Rather, our strategy involved creating a national training team would help bring in a cohesive Lowe’s-branded experience for associates and customers alike. At each of the new store locations, our trainers built trusting relationships with the over 200 associates and worked to make them passionate advocates for the Lowe’s brand. Associates were also trained in new merchandizing techniques – from eye-catching branding and product displays to more implementing more efficient floorplans – that resulted in faster product turnover and increased sales.
